An EEC consortium coordinated through the Genoscope has been funded to construct a transcript map of the mouse using the T31 radiation hybrid panel described by Mc CARTHY et al. The overall target of the consortium, as initially defined, is to map 10 000 mouse ESTs by the middle of the year 2000. Thus far over 2000 framework markers have been typed over the panel and well over a thousand ESTs localised. The data can be consulted on the consortium website at www.genoscope.cns.fr.An update on the current status of our work and future plans will be provided.
