Scholarship Awards through the IMGS

These have been awarded and applications are no longer being accepted.

If you are interested in applying for scholarship funds which will cover your registration fees for the main meeting, the trainee symposium, and the optional Bioinformatics Workshop and Systems Genetics Workshop, please send an email request by July 31, 2014, to Darla Miller at millerdr@med.unc.edu. [Note: Sadly, funding for half a twin hotel room for 5 nights WILL NOT be part of the scholarship package due to the status of NIH funding.]

In the e-mail, please include your name, address, the name of your laboratory head, your position (student or post-doc), and a copy of your abstract. Please be sure that you specify that your abstract is to be considered for the Trainee conference when submitting your abstract within the submission system. A maximum of one scholarship equivalent will be granted per laboratory.

In addition, please register on this site and choose "Direct bill" in the payment section and you will not need to pay when you register.  Finances can be sorted out after the scholarship awards are given.  You should ALSO submit your abstract on line by the deadline and make your own hotel reservations. If you are interested in sharing a room, but do not have a roommate in mind, please contact Darla Miller to see if others are interested in sharing.

Scholarship recipients must

1) have an abstract which is accepted for either poster or oral presentation at the main meeting

2) participate in the Trainee Symposium, the main meeting and the mentor lunch.  Awardees are also welcome to participate in the optional Bioinformatics workshop.
