C9. Microsatellite Database for MSM/Ms and JF1/Ms, inbred strains derived from Mus musculus molossinus

The major aim of constructing this database was to establish the status of inbred strains MSM/MS and JF1/MS, which were derived from a subspecies of Mus musculus, M. m. molossinus, as genetic resources for linkage analysis and positional cloning. Other inbred strains incorporated in our database were A/J, C57BL/6J, SM/J, SWR/J, PGN2 and 129Sv/J, which have not or poorly been incorporated in the Whitehead Institute/MIT (WI/MIT) microsatellite database. The number of microsatellite loci incorporated in our database was 1,472 in total, most of which are attached with image data detecting by electrophoresis on agarose gel. 93% of the loci showed polymorphisms between the two molossinus-derived and other six inbred strains. The average distances between two neighboring loci were calculated to be 2.5 cM.
