The Mouse Genome Informatics (MGI) web site (http://www.informatics.jax.org) is a comprehensive integrated public information resource for mouse genetics, genomics and biology. MGI consists of the Mouse Genome Database (MGD), the Gene Expression Database (GXD), the Mouse Genome Sequence Database (MGS) and the Mouse Tumor Biology Database (MTB).

The Mouse Genome Database (MGD) provides information on gene nomenclature, function, and orthology; genetic and physical maps; mutant and allelic variation; mouse strain phenotypes and  molecular segments. MGD is extensively linked with other online resources such as GenBank, SWISS-PROT, PubMed and OMIM. MGD is updated daily.

The Gene Expression Database (GXD) includes a searchable index of expression literature for mouse development as well as embryonic mouse  RT-PCR, in situ hybridization and many other types of data and images.

The Mouse Genome Sequence (MGS) Project seeks to integrate emerging mouse genomic sequence data with the genetic and biological data available in MGD and GXD. MGS supports the MouseBLAST server as a sequence-level entry point into the MGI Database.

The Mouse Tumor Biology (MTB) database provides electronic access to cancer-related genetic and phenotypic data in different strains of the laboratory mouse.  Supported by NIH grants HG00330, HG01559, HD37745 and DOE-FG02-ER62850.
