A database system was developed to support the mutagenesis program in RIKEN GSC. This system manages mouse breeding, screen data and preservation of bioresources generated from the mice. Recent improvement of this system is as follows.
1) The system can manage breeding not only by natural mating but also IVF procedure that includes embryo transfer and fostering.
2) Data input of several new screen assays were supported by the database.
3) It supports for various inheritance test for phenodeviants. The system helps phenotyping of all G2 progeny and supports to share the phenotype data among screening staffs.
4) Gene mapping of mutants is fully supported by the system. Genotype data from ABI 7700 is automatically transferred to the database. Phenotype data from the inheritance tests and genotype data are integrated into the segregation panel for gene mapping.
5) It supports publication of Mutants. Mutants generated from RIKEN GSC program will be open to public through the web site (http://www.gsc.riken.go.jp/e/Mouse/index.htm).
