E58 Genetic Mapping of Unique BALB Cell Killing-Susceptibility by B6 NK Cells
Manchao Zhang, Ichiro Nakamura, and John E. Coligan. NIAID/NIH, Rockville, Maryland
For several years, we have been noticing an interesting phenomenon, that is, no matter what their MHC class I molecules are, all the BALB congenic mice (BALB/c, BALB.B10, BALB.k, etc blast cells are killed by B6 NK cells. So the killing of BALB cells by B6 NK cells may not be completely controlled by MHC. We call this phenomenon unique susceptibility of BALB cells, and we have enough immunological evidence to support this point.
Our NK assay indicated that CB6F1 is not killed by B6 NK cells, so the genes we are going to map are recessive.
